President, Russell Construction
Josie started at Russell Construction in estimating and project management and is now taking over as president in her family business’ 40th year of operation. She values providing growth opportunities for those in the business and feels consistency and positivity allow her to remain centered in both her professional and personal life.
When did you start your current job?
I began working with Russell Construction in estimating and project management in 2017. I was then moved to VP of Marketing, and am now President.
What is your main role at your company?
My role is to oversee all business functions at Russell Construction, and cultivate relationships in our community while ensuring our projects are upheld to the highest level of quality.
What is your number one career accomplishment or highlight?
Our business is a family business. I am taking over as President in our 40th year, which is an accomplishment for our family and employees. Some of our employees have been with us for as many as 30 years. Being able to continue to provide career and personal growth opportunities for those in our business is special to me.
How are you involved in your community?
Currently, I am a Loaned Executive for the United Way, a member of the Tocqueville Society for the United Way, a Board Member and Annual Campaign Chair for the Wilson YMCA, and a board member for Habitat for Humanity. My husband and I are also involved at Century Church, members of several Chambers of Commerce throughout the River Region, and truly care about the River Region area as a whole.
What is your key to success?
There are two things that I recenter myself to in my career as well as home life, which are consistency and positivity. Without them, I will not be my best self and therefore will not perform my best work.
